Urging for Your donation to our Typhoon Haiyan Appeal

Your donation to UNICEF's Typhoon Haiyan Children's Appeal has already helped us deliver 60 cubic tonnes of supplies to families in the Philippines this week.

Tents and tarpaulins have been distributed along with water purification tablets, hygiene kits and generators. Just today we delivered 100 toilets to Tacloban, one of the hardest hit areas.

Firsthand reports from the Philippines have been heartbreaking. "People, families with children are walking along the ruined roads. I don't know where they are going - there is nowhere to go. They are walking because their homes are gone and they have nowhere to go."

UNICEF staff are heartened to hear of the generosity of Australians, like you.

They've shared with us three more ways you can help relief efforts.

1. Host a fundraiser with friends or at work. Hold a bake sale, a trivia day at work or take part in a sponsored sporting challenge. Find out more and set up your fundraiser.

2. Spread the word on social media. Use your social networks to tell friends and family about the situation in the Philippines and how they can help. Click here to tweet a message, or share messages from the UNICEF Australia Facebook page.

3. Talk to your children. Our education team has created a useful educational resource to help you discuss natural disasters with young children. Download the kit here.

On behalf of children and families affected by this disaster, thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Norman Gillespie

Chief Executive, UNICEF Australia

Please donate now to help families in the Philippines recover from the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan.

Dear Friends,

Millions of people's lives have been destroyed by a typhoon in the Philippines and urgently need your help.
This is one of the worst disasters that I have seen during my 25 years in aid work. The situation is total devastation. There is no clean water, no electricity and very little food or shelter. Help is critically needed. Please donate now to support the most vulnerable.
In the past few days, nine million people have been affected by Typhoon Haiyan – the strongest storm ever – after it ripped through the Philippines. The disaster has left thousands of people dead and hundreds of thousands struggling to survive.
It is clear the number of people in desperate need is set to rise significantly.
Thousands of people in rural areas sit waiting for those in cities to help them -- unaware that those cities have also been flattened. Children wander the debris looking for their parent's to help them -- parents they may never find.
Your help is needed immediately to provide lifesaving support to help those hit by this terrible disaster. Click here to donate now.
ActionAid focuses on supporting the most vulnerable, especially women and children, and your support will provide life-saving assistance to people in the worst hit areas.
Just $10 could provide urgent lifesaving supplies now or $43 could provide a family with emergency shelter.
Thank you so much for your support.
Mike Noyes
Head of Humanitarian Resilience & Response
P.S. Your support will come at a critical time. Water and food are running out, mosquitos are breeding in stagnant water, and shelter is desperately needed. Please give whatever you can afford. It will make a real difference now and as we help people recover from this terrible tragedy.
